Witham Town Council
Witham Town Council is staffed by a dedicated team of 12 people headed by the Town Clerk. We are the first tier of local government and our principal aims are to seek improvements in residents' well-being and in the fabric of the town. The Council also lobbies other service providers and scrutinises service provision.
Should you wish to report a problem concerning an area managed by Witham Town Council, please contact us at the Town Hall. If your query regards an issue that you would like debated by the Council, please contact a Town Councillor for your ward to discuss further.
The Town Mayor is elected from the Town Council at the Annual General Meeting in May. The Mayor sits for a year, and nominates charities and causes to raise funds for during that time. As the public figurehead of the Council, the Mayor and Deputy Mayor attend many events throughout the year.
The Town Council has the power to grant persons of distinction and persons who have rendered eminent services, the Freedom of the Town.
