A new fixed-point photography post has been installed at the top of the hill of Whetmead Nature Reserve, offering a panoramic view over the reserve’s landscape. This post has a specially made cradle for smartphones and is designed so visitors can place their phones on it to capture an identical scene with each visit.

Over time, photos taken from this viewpoint will showcase how Whetmead transforms with the changing seasons as wildflowers bloom, foliage turns, and wildlife flourishes.

Everyone is invited to take part in this community project— simply place a smartphone in the cradle, ensuring the camera faces through the hole, and take a photo.  Images can be sent to us by scanning the QR code on the post or by emailing Whetmead@witham.gov.uk. You can also share your picture with us on social media with the hashtag #Whetmead.

By contributing, participants will help us to create a gallery celebrating the landscape and wildlife of Whetmead throughout the seasons.

By submitting or sharing your photo you give permission for Witham Town Council to use your image for publicity and promotional purposes, including our website, printed materials and social media. Your personal details will remain confidential. If you wish to withdraw consent and have your image removed, please contact Whetmead@witham.gov.uk.
