WUDC Coronation Celebrations

This Witham Urban District Coronation Celebrations souvenir programme is for the coronation of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. It cost one shilling and covered events in Witham, Rivenhall and Silver End which were all part of the Witham district.

Events and entertainment were widely varied, including window dressing competitions, dancing, a carnival procession and cricket matches. There are details of where one could watch the coronation on television in the Crittall Social Clubroom and a grand closing dance.

Celebration lasted over a week, from 30th May until 6th June
