Webster's Pocket Dictionary
Webster's Pocket Dictionary belonging to Eva Croxall
We have this well used copy of Webster's pocket Dictionary that, from the inscription, once belonged to Eva Croxall.
The Croxall's were a prominently family in Witham in the early 1900's, as can be seen on this entry on Janet Gyford's website: https://www.janetgyford.com/people/croxall-family/
The address given by Eva in the inscription is the Gas Works, Witham. Eva's father, James Croxall, was a manager at the Gas Works, and the Electoral Roll for 1920 shows them to be living at this address.
