Photo of Trafalgar Day Celebrations

We have this photograph by Halls Photo of the Trafalgar Day celebrations held in Witham in 1905. This was the centenary year marking 100 years since the British Navy victory at the Battle of Trafalgar, led by Admiral Lord Nelson, on 21st October 1805. Celebrations were held across the country, including Trafalgar Square in London.

Here in Witham, this photo shows Admiral Sir William Luard on a dais outside a stationery shop at 70 Newland Street. This building is currently Prezzo.
