Climate Audit Panel

The Town Council understands the role it needs to play in the global, climate change battle, which has led to the establishment of the Climate Audit Panel. The purpose of the group is to ensure that commitments for the climate are delivered not just as policies, but as tangible actions with material benefits. The Town Council is committed to ensure that policy formulation leads to genuine action.

The Climate Audit panel meets twice a year and is led by a group of three Members. The purpose of the panel is to hold officers to account on their implementation of all relevant carbon reduction policy and practices that impact climate change. The panel holds the power of intervention with respect to any project under the Uniform Project Management Process and may explore the discharge of managed projects, with the power of recommendation to the respective project committee to give reasonable consideration any of its findings.
